Well, we finally made it. Our first Clear Springs High School event! Yesterday, I took Garin over to see the Lady Chargers take on the Mavericks from Manvel in a Junior Varsity Volleyball match. I loved it. Garin was intrigued also...for about 1 game. She asked questions and we cheered. It was great, too, because the Chargers won!
As I entered the gym yesterday, the new smell overwhelmed me and the crowd was a good crowd for a volleyball game. I didn't know one person in the entire gym. Wow...a new dimension to my Clear Springs oikos. At first we sat alone so I could teach Garin a little about the game. We then moved over and met Jed and Judy. They are Bailey's parents. Bailey is a Middle Blocker and is a good player. She's #12, so we then had our first player to root for. We left the game last night, knowing three new people, and Judy informed us that there is another game on Friday. Maybe, I'll meet two or three more new people.
The Junior Varsity Football team will start games soon also. If we are going to be part of the community build, these are great opportunities to cheer. It all reminded me of Jesus' continual reminder to the disciples that the people are plentiful and to ask the Lord for those who will reach them. The time is here.
